For over 45 years, Shirosawa Company has been processing and exporting products harvested from small farmers and local producers in South America, mainly in Paraguay, to the World.

Company History


History of Shirosawa Company

Shirosawa Company was founded in Paraguay with the idea of Toshikazu Shirosawa in 1971 under the idea that "people create jobs and work grows people", it has over 45 years. In addition, Shirosawa Company has contributed to the poverty eradication project by contributing to the economic improvement of rural areas by producing non-traditional crops with small farmers from the time of establishment.

Founded by Shirosawa Shoko, "Shirosawa Company S.A.I.C." commences operations in Paraguay

Investment at starting of operation: 50 million Guarani

1975

Establishment of peanut processing plant

Opened "PRINT CENTER S.R.L.", specialized in printing machines and office related equipment

1979

Establishment of a new peanut process plant in the city of Limpio

Start exporting soybeans

Construction of headquarter building in the capital city Asuncion

Established office in Santiago Chile, under the name "SHIROSAWA Y CIA. LTDA."

In the Chaco region, acquired the lands of "25 Legua" and "Para todo". Purchased 40,000 Ha of land in the Pozo Hondo area for cattle - livestock industry and registered under "Tropical Products Company S.R.L."

Established "Acuarela Chile S.A." in Santiago and started a restaurant buffet business

Japan's Ministry of International Trade and Industry awards merit service prize to Shirosawa Company as an overseas resident company that contributed to the economy of developing countries

1999

Governor of Hokkaido announced Governor's Achievement Award to President Toshikazu Shirosawa for contributing to the construction of the project "Hamanasu Exchange Center" which is a place of cultural exchange between Paraguay and Hokkaido

2003

Shirosawa Company received recognition from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Paraguay for contributing to the export of non-traditional crops

2006

Capital increase of 5 billion Guarani

2008

Paraguay Ministry of Commerce and Industry Investment Export Network (REDIEX) awards Exporting Excellency - Innovative Agriculture Production Award to Shirosawa Company
REDIEX Premio Nacional a la Competitividad Exportadora 2008

2011

Shirosawa Company celebrated its 40th anniversary. The planned celebration event was discontinued, instead the full budget (100,000 dollars) were donated to support the afflicted areas of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami

2013

The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs grants the "Minister of Foreign Affairs Award" for the development of economic exchanges between Paraguay & Japan and poverty eradication to President Toshikazu Shirosawa
